Domain verification

Prove you control a domain with a DNS TXT record.

Verification ensures nobody can use Webforta to assess a website they do not control. It is required before scans, monitoring and Cloudflare changes.

The record

Type: TXT
Name: _webforta-verify.example.com
Value: webforta-verify=<your token>
  • Cloudflare DNS: enter only "_webforta-verify" (or "_webforta-verify.shop" for a subdomain) in the Name field; Cloudflare appends the zone.
  • Many registrars (GoDaddy, Namecheap and others) also append the domain automatically - enter only the part before your domain.
  • If you use a subdomain such as shop.example.com, the record name is _webforta-verify.shop.example.com.

How we check

Webforta queries Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google Public DNS over HTTPS. The record must be visible on Cloudflare’s resolver and must not be contradicted by Google’s. Verification values expire after 7 days if unused, and attempts are rate-limited to 10 per hour per website.

Keeping verification

Webforta re-checks ownership every 30 days. If the record cannot be found three times in a row, the website moves to "Re-verify" and scans pause until you verify again. Keep the record in place for uninterrupted service.
